South Bohemia is a region which is very suitable for cycling. The landscape provides a lot of opportunities for bike trips. The plains surrounding the cities of České Budějovice and Třeboň are just perfect for family trips and relaxing bike rides.
Numerous cycling trails have recently been built on the whole territory of South Bohemia; special maps are published to enable cyclists to get oriented easily. Tourists can make a lot of trips along marked routes which run on field and forest paths, past places of historic and natural interest. A special service for cyclists is also provided by regular bus lines which can transport you and your bike to the most beautiful parts of this region and bring you back again. Buses can be combined with trains where bikes can easily be transported too.
The town of Hluboká nad Vltavou is literally interwoven with cycling routes of which the most famous are the Vltava and Ohrada paths. The Knížecí Dvůr Hotel and the Podhrad Hotel, are, due to their location, excellent starting points for numerous trips to the immediate vicinity of the town as well as further out.
